Sirje Sirita Somelar is a self-taught artist.
“Nowadays, knowledge is available and studying is only a matter of decision,” She says.
“And it is just so fascinating and overwhelming to move towards something called perfection, even if you know by heart, it might never happen”.
In July 2017, Sirje presented her first collection of large-scale acrylic paintings to her friends.
The first public exhibition took place in Tallinn in 2019, where the collections “Estonia 100” and “Dancing Inks” were presented.
In 2022 a portrait exhibition was opened in Tartu Kvartal.
Many of her works (more than 60) have caught people’s eyes and have found a new home.
